The High Court of Justice froze the appointment of attorney Michael Rabello, who was voted to be the next state comptroller earlier this month.
The Wednesday freeze came amid a legal case before the court, and just a few days before Rabello was set to enter office.
The decision, penned by Supreme Court President Isaac Amit, Deputy President Noam Sohlberg and Justice Dafna Barak-Erez, stressed that the temporary freeze is for the purpose of completing the legal process and issuing a final ruling on the matter.
This, they wrote, would be handed down “at the earliest convenience.”
