NATO: please spend 2% of GDP on defence. Luxembourg: that’s a lot of money. 1% is cool for us.

  1. Even the 1 per cent is a waste … any enemy would need to cross France or Germany … we are naturally defended by neighbours … we hardly have any military personnel … pointless exercise to spend money on the army beyond the internal emergency services / ceremonial / development duties

  2. As part of Lux military you have cyber and humanitarian which are dual use as they could be beneficial for private and public sector. Lux is also integrated in NATO and EU defence alliances. Alone it would make not sense but don’t worry they are not going to just throw money by the window.

  3. People say spending 2% would be a waste.

    But is it?

Sure spending those 2% on even more Dingos is a waste, but I see an opportunity here.

Why don’t we spezialize on things like cyberwarfare and intelligence?

It needs less human ressources but a lot of money and our industry would profit from such a military branch.

And for the rest we could spend it on classic military in order to get 1k active soldiers and maybe an artillery divisin again.

  4. The cold war is over but the game continues of autocratic and democratic expansionism. Wanted or forced the war continues. We might have japan and all europe back but the chinese might now join them since they are autocratic as fuck. Nato must strong because it will save all the democratic chambers of the world.
