there is a bigger gap in wealth distribution between the rich and poor in America today than there was in France right before the French Revolution.

    Revolution doesn’t happen because of inequality, people storm the gate when they are starving, we see time and time again how food prices are trigger for revolutionary events, the last important one was the effect of bread price increase in starting the Arab spring. And even if some people suffer from food insecurity in the USA, no one is starving and no one will ever starve judging by the massive food surplus that you have.

    The fetishization of revolution, especially the French Revolution from revolutionary frustrated Americans is really a weird thing.

  4. Sans vouloir faire de comparaisons douteuses avec la révolution française, Je ne vois pas le pays continuer très longtemps à ce rythme. La concentration des richesse atteint des niveaux délirants là bas et le fossé n’arrête pas de se creuser. C’est totalement intenable.

  5. Espérons que le jour où ça explose, les idées progressistes gagneront sur les idées fascistes. On sait qu’une crise des inégalités peut déboucher sur l’un ou l’autre, pour l’instant ça a plutôt l’air de pencher du deuxième côté.
