Sparkle Greece Data Center Achieves Uptime Institute Tier III Certification Standard

Sparkle Greece, the national subsidiary of Sparkle, the first international service provider in Italy and among the top global operators, announced that its Metamorfosis II data center has been awarded the prestigious Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF).

This global “seal of approval”, achieved after a diligent assessment of facilities and operations by expert Uptime teams, confirms that Metamorfosis II is built to provide uninterrupted service, ensuring that mission-critical digital data remains secure and accessible even during scheduled maintenance or equipment upgrades.

As businesses and government services increasingly rely on cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence, the need for highly resilient physical infrastructure is becoming increasingly important . The Metamorfosis II facility, which now supports a total peak capacity of 1,282 kilowatts (kW), ensures that Sparkle’s clients – including major banks and international tech companies – experience the highest levels of operational reliability.

Beyond reliability, this facility is a cornerstone of Sparkle’s broader network strategy. It acts as a gateway for international data flows, connecting directly to the BlueMed subsea cable system, which links Greece to major hubs in Europe and the Middle East. Furthermore, the upcoming GreenMed subsea cable project will soon create an additional strategic path through the Adriatic, further cementing Greece’s position as a vital crossroad for international digital traffic.

The facility is also recognized for its focus on sustainability, holding a LEED Gold certification for its efficient cooling systems and eco-friendly design, proving that high-performance data centers can successfully balance technological power with environmental responsibility.
