European tyre demand is showing clear signs of resilience in the first quarter of 2026, with unit volumes reaching a five-year high. However, value growth is lagging behind, creating margin pressure across the sector. That was one of the key takeaways from the latest NIQ webinar “Beyond the Tread Europe – Decoding Q1 2026 Tyre Market Signals and What Comes Next”, which took place at the tail-end of May and was hosted by James Ward, Tyres channel director, global, NielsesnIQ GfK. Insights were also shared by Namrata Gotarne, strategic insights director; Francois Le Gunehec; and Allessandro De Fazio, international automotive customer success manager. And what’s happening across Europe as a whole is often happening even more so in the UK.
