Surprised to that “You Are Gay” is not top of the list!
You’ve copied and pasted the chart for the countries where you’re most likely to bump into Canadian ice hockey supporters.
You’re ok being gay in Canada. As long as you’re not indigenous as well
So I had to look up this gaydex to see why we don’t place higher. It basically assigns scores for various gay rights issues. Things we don’t do well in, conversion therapy isn’t illegal (but most countries have that), and we have transgender rights, but no “3rd option” rights (whatever that means) and also non-discrimination laws don’t apply to religious organizations to protect ethos which is pretty fucked up, especially as per capita they’re one of the highest gay employers.
One area we score higher than most is the “hostile locals” category, indicating we’re one of the least hostile to gay people so that’s a pretty good one!
I don’t know how we could possibly be more gay as a country
Could well be showing my ignorance, but quite surprised by Taiwan?
Just beaten by bloody Greenland again!
As a heterosexual, can someone explain why we aren’t in the top 10 countries?
I feel like we’re a reasonably progressive country (most of the time)
Ahhh but we love a good slagging. So I reckon that puts us down a few points unjustifiablly.
