In Maastricht there is a hill called the St. Pietersberg. It is a marlquarry for for over 700 years (perhaps longer). The mined corridors are a tourist attraction for centuries. The Spanish and French conquerors came here and left their signatures on the wall. In the 1800 it was custom for the more wealthy ones to do a European tour. And when visiting Maastricht they took a guided tour in the quarry, and left their signature on the walls.
This wall is with only polish signature’s
