Grew up watching him on Look North, came across as a nice bloke.
A mainstay on TV in this part of the world and a real champion for the region. He’ll be missed.
Never forget when he came down Sheffield to report on the amount of snow we’d had. As he’s doing his report from outside a pub – he got absolutely sledged with snowballs. Great bloke, and he will be missed up here.
Nice guy who will be missed here in Yorkshire.
This guy was a permanent fixture on Look North during my childhood.
May he rest in peace. Only 71, died far too soon.
I always thought of the Classic Robin Reliant Top Gear sketch whenever I saw Harry Gration.
1995 – 1999 Harry turned up to present South Today from Southampton. Never quite knew why that was… as he was North through and through. His co-presenter was Sally Taylor so they always said “when Harry Met Sally”.

Bumped into him a few times over the years.
Was always decent with the herd of college students chain smoking outside the BBC building.

Obviously completely staged and all, and he’s not going to win an award for acting anytime soon, but quite amusing that he was willing to play along.
I always thought he was far older than that, mainly due to him always being on the TV when I was a kid.
Getting older really is a pain in the arse.
