  1. >Parliamentarians from across Europe have denounced Boris Johnson’s plans to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda as “unethical” and “racist”.
    >
    >In a debate at the parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe, delegates expressed deep concern over the Johnson administration’s apparent willingness to breach international law, and to pass a British Bill of Rights which would allow UK judges to override rulings from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
    >
    >Speakers warned that UK actions would be used by authoritarian states like Russia as pretexts for flouting international treaties and agreements.
    >
    >And German MP Julian Pahlke told the assembly that the protections offered by the ECHR were a response to the horrors of the Nazi era.
    >
    >“The world learned a lesson after World War Two,” he said. “Ignoring the European Court of Human Rights is ignoring the lessons learnt.” …

  2. Drop this in in case you missed:

    >As the UK presses on with its plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda, the BBC has heard evidence that, as recently as 2017, refugees despatched there by Israel were rapidly deported and are now in Europe.

  3. Yesterday, Ian Duncan Smith was on LBC [spreading lies](https://twitter.com/sundersays/status/1539943041913561088) about Rwanda policy, then executing a successful run down of the clock when the interviewer catches him out.

But [as pointed out](https://twitter.com/sundersays/status/1539943041913561088) by Sunder Katwala:

    > IDS makes 2 different mistakes about core policy.

    > 1. He thinks deportation order made *after* an assessment that asylum claim unlikely to be valid.
    – UK will not try to do this.

    > 2. He thinks those whose claim judged to be valid in Rwanda would come back to UK
    – Not the plan

  4. this is no news. It was obvious that liberals will cry out loud. This shall not stop an effort to make country better. Don’t listen to liberals, they cry all the time.

  5. My mum is all for this, her words “I heard Rwanda is getting better”.

Who fucking cares if its not beheading everybody, its still shouldn’t be happening!!

Also all immigrants should get the criminal tags according to her to stop them causing crime when they get here.

  6. It’s illegal. By international law if someone rocks up to your border and claims asylum, you’re responsible for recognizing that claim and hearing the case. What UK is planning is extra judicial rendition. Not possible to achieve this so it’s a fake plan of no serious intent.

  7. Don’t send them over to us and we won’t have to send them to Rwanda. Not that our immigration policy is any of Europe’s business.

  8. Ok so what is the solution. Self-righteous arm waving will not solve all the deaths the slavery and all the heinous crime that come with illegal immigration . What exactly are all the political parties going to do other than point scoring it serves no purpose . How many more containers with dead bodies piled up inside do we have to see reported. A cross party agreement needs to happen NOW to find a solution and make it work

  9. I could not care less what these people think. The UK has a housing shortage, and cannot produce enough food to feed it’s population now. Time to say no more

  10. Johnson will not believe these accusations and does not care what the EU thinks of him, which is one reason he chose to leave the EU. This won’t change anything and Johnson will probably just claim these are personal attacks from the EU, giving him more ammunition to claim that he was right to leave the EU.

  11. Yeah! It’s so unethically racist sending people to that black African country run by black African peopl- oh, wait a minute…

Gosh darn it, now I’m confused! Why is it racist to send them there again? Would it be considered more or less unethically racist if we sent them to a white run country instead? O_o

  12. The EU, which spends billions on keeping Africans out of Europe, is hardly in a position to comment on perceived racism.

That’s not to mention the Custom’s Barrier that prevents them importing into the EU and thus trading out of poverty.

    The hypocrisy is painful.
