Auckland crashes close Penrose Road, cause southbound delays on Northern Motorway

About 6.25am, police were called to Penrose Rd in Mount Wellington after a truck struck a power pole.

Nobody was injured, but the road has been closed between Portman Rd
and Bailey Rd, and is expected to remain closed for some time while repairs are undertaken.

Police said motorists should avoid the area if they can or expect delays.

There are also delays for rush-hour commuters travelling south on the city’s Northern Motorway after a single-vehicle crash occurred about 6.30am.
