It’s not the first time the Tories have used the young and unemployed as a slave labour class; remember the ‘Work for your benefits’ nonsense, where in order to keep receiving benefits you were forced into ‘work experience’ roles?
I’d love to see some figures on exactly how much the Govt. spends on subsidising employee wages. An advertising firm I used to work for would constantly cycle staff (using impossible targets as ‘justification’ for firing them) in order to take advantage of the Govt’s offer to pay half their wages for the first few months. I bet that there’s a ton of businesses with ties to Tories that should have gone under ages ago, but have been kept afloat with awful schemes like this.
Sounds like sunaks plan worked as intended
He is a Banker. He views debt as an asset. What else would happen?
Well never say the tories aren’t good at what they do. Plundering the UK for every penny lmao.
From the same government that helped create all sorts of dodgy apprenticeships too. Tories are big on flashy projects that sound like they tick all the right boxes but fail to deliver anything meaningful to those they are intended for. This project was meant to be used in election campaigns as something positive they have done for young people, it was not meant to actually help young people get a job.
