We clap differently

  1. Yeah, now that he mentioned it, we actually do. When I compare our applause to what I’m used to from U.S Tv shows, we are definitely more unison. Every concert or play in theatre, where the applause took more than five seconds ended with unanimous clapping (well at least I haven’t seen it not happen) , but I don’t remember it happening on such a scale during or after American concerts or in their movies…

  2. I’m actually amazed how many people can’t keep the rhythm during a song, once the kick drum goes quiet it just falls apart and it syncs back once the drummer resumes. And then there are people that I’m reffering to as “not bothered by the rhythm” and they just miss every beat. But if we’re talking applause after the song/performance nobody claps in unison. Even if we clap in rhythm utntil the end of the song, everyone chooses their own tempo after the last beat. Except… for the times we want an encore, then everyone starts to chant and clap at the same time, but this usualy doesn’t last long.
