  1. Well done! Under the current circumstances, far more of the workforce should be considering taking up collective bargaining power.

  2. Woot!
Although not the happiest with PCS for putting up zero resistance on employers changing how
Long Covid was treated in regards to covid leave.

  3. I really feel like this will help us turn a corner.

I am so sick of the CEO’s making millions while those at the bottom suffer.

  4. I left my union (Usdaw) for my local reps being bloody useless at my previous job, but I’ve decided to rejoin and put my name forward to become a shop steward.

  5. You know, someday, perhaps there will be thanks to the Tories for being the greatest force for union membership in decades.

  6. Was in PCS for a while as a rep and we do sweet FA, a lot of the time it’s a circle jerk patting eachother on the back. I wish unions in the civil service and the like were better

  7. If you are contemplating joining one, just do it sooner rather than later. The quicker you’re in, the quicker they will have your back

  8. Ok, dumb question but how do you know which union to join? I work for the NHS and looks like I could join Unite or Unison. Do you just pick the one that sounds more appealing or is cheaper etc?

  9. I’m for unions in general, but PCS were the union at my previous employer and they were completely useless. By the time they bothered to even make a statement, most of the redundancies had already taken place.

  10. Yes I’m going to join Unison. I’ve been humming and harring over it for a while since it’s £22 a month for me. But with he current state of politics in this country it seems the only working class representation and possible route to change is via unions at present. We can see now how the establishment are banding together again now there is a possible threat to them.

  11. Well done! The only way we can defend what rights we already have, let alone fight for new ones, is to do it collectively. We’ve go strength in numbers and to paraphrase the late Bob Crow, if we all spit at once then we can drown the bastards!

  12. Joining the union is one thing – but be involved in it too. Unions are strongest when their members are active and contributing to them. Keep your unions leaders on their toes, and you’ll get out much more then you put in. good luck!

  13. That’s great! Get involved – attend meetings and join the WhatsApp groups for your industry. A union is only as good as it’s members!
