The old town of Budva, Montenegro

  1. Little bit info about Budva:

    – Budva is 2,500 years old, which makes it one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. [^([1])](https://www.budva.com/mne/budva/istorija-i-legende/)

    – Archaeological evidence suggests that an Illyrian settlement was formed on the site of the Old Town before the Greek colonization of the Adriatic. While the site was permanently settled since the Roman era, most of the existing city walls and buildings were erected during the Venetian rule.

    – Even though Montenegro is not an EU member, it’s one of the two countries that use the Euro unilaterally as its only currency. (The other one is Kosovo)

    – City’s Jaz beach hosts the Sea Dance Festival annually which is one of the top 10 Europe’s Summer Festivals. [^([2])](https://www.forbes.com/sites/ceciliarodriguez/2015/05/21/europes-10-best-summer-festivals-you-never-heard-of/3/)

The Sea Dance Festival is from 26 to 28 August this year which also will host this year’s Eurovision winner Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine. [^([3])](https://www.seadancefestival.me/)

  2. How does it compare to Kotor and Ulcinj? Montenegro has quite a lot of these similar-looking walled cities no?
