MARION COUNTY, Missouri – Some GPS navigation systems are causing headaches for drivers in the Hannibal area.
It’s created so many safety concerns, that the Marion County Commission now has a new ordinance to address it.
The commission said GPS providers like Google and Garmin have been increasingly showing Paris Gravel Road, also known as Marion County Road #422, as the main thoroughfare through Hannibal.
Now, the county’s new ordinance cuts the speed limit there down to 35 miles per hour. It also stipulates that commercial vehicles are no longer allowed, except for those licensed for agricultural purposes.

The county said it plans plan to update the road signage sometime in the near future.
