Who’s in town for Paris Couture Week this season? All eyes are on the French capital as the fashion glitterati jet into the city to be among the first to bear witness to the latest hand-crafted collections from the most eminent and fashion-legendary Maisons.
Following on from January’s highly anticipated shows which debuted three new designer’s first haute couture collections across historic houses (Jonathan Anderson for Dior, Matthieu Blazy for Chanel and Silvana Armani for Armani Privé), many will be excited to see how they will follow up with their sophomore collections.
But who has made the cut so far? Things kicked off at Schiaparelli where Marisa Berenson, grande dame of fashion and granddaughter of house founder Elsa, was spotted holding up the train of her midnight-hued silk gown with a gold chain bracelet. Meanwhile, former Princess Diana embodier, Emma Corrin, turned heads in a plumed jacket which featured frighteningly-chic horned busts.
Over at Dior, Zita d’Hauteville looked as It-girl-glamorous as ever in a white one-shouldered gown; former Tatler cover star Naomi Watts looked the picture of androgynous elegance in captivating, historically inspired tailoring; and we had our first royal sighting in the form of Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand. The fashion designer and daughter of King Vajiralongkorn was draped to perfection in a silken, floral design.
