President Donald Trump got NATO countries to spend more on military and defense, and now he wants them to use it when the US asks for it, like with the war in Iran, for example. Today when the president was asked if he would consider removing US troops from NATO countries, he didn’t rule it out. Well, see, I was very disappointed with NATO, and frankly, if it weren’t held in Turkey, where my friend happens to be *** very strong leader, *** very strong. Person, it’s possible that I wouldn’t have attended. That would be *** major shift. Thousands of American troops are stationed across Europe as part of the US security umbrella NATO has relied on for decades. The president said his disappointment with the military alliance lies in the fact that they didn’t help with the Iran war, and it is not the only. President Trump is using US support as leverage. He also mentioned withdrawing troops when renewing his push for US control of Greenland, an island controlled by NATO ally Denmark. That should be controlled by the United States, not by Denmark, and when they wouldn’t go along with it and with all the money we spend to help them with Russia. That is not *** new demand from President Trump, but saying it again at *** NATO summit puts new pressure on the alliance because NATO is built around defending allied territory. At the same time, NATO countries are trying to prove they are doing what the president previously asked up defense spending. Several European allies and Canada have increased commitments for more military weapons, equipment and infrastructure, which is *** major focus of the summit. And tomorrow, President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Vladimyr Zelensky, another test of whether NATO can stay aligned at the White House and Christopher Sales.
