Dublin Council are ramping up street washing (they must’ve heard us moaning!)
I met with Chief Executive @DubCityCouncil and we agreed that immediate action will be taken to increase the street power washing schedule in our city including intensive power washing of our core city centre streets and a more frequent follow-up rota. Statement ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/ab2ICsvrvp

Now they just need to tackle those rubbish bags.
If only they could do the same with the riff raff
They saw Galway doing it and had to keep up appearances.
And what about the buildings? The absolute hack of some places around town. Dame Street comes to mind. Decades of black soot and dust all over some otherwise architecturally beautiful buildings. Some kind of local law should be passed to ensure owners invest in upkeep. It’s embarrassing to see tourists looking at these manky facades.
They need to get underground bin collection like they have in Spain and Portugal. It’s disgusting to have bin bags lining the streets and spilling onto pavements having been attacked by the gulls and pigeons.
This is what I mean

Will they then be getting the riot police to make sure no one walks on it afterwards?
What other cities have the Dublin “seagull problem”
I lived in a couple different places in Fingal County Council and the street cleaning was carried out almost daily, literally everywhere.
When I moved to Donnybrook I noticed the last time one of those little trucks brushed my street was back in 2014.
They removed 3 bins on Mount Brown between the children’s hospital and Kennedy’s a while back. The place is covered in trash all the time and the sweepers almost never go down there. I wonder if the poors are concidered important enough to be included in this new agenda or are they just saving face for the tourists?
