LISBON — A 2026 Hamilton High School graduate was found dead on campus on Wednesday, according to the Hamilton School District.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office said it was investigating a death on the grounds of Hamilton High School Wednesday morning. Hamilton School District Superintendent Paul Mielke sent an email to district families with more information Wednesday afternoon. The student is not being named at this time.
“It is with great sadness that I reach out to share that a former student and recent Hamilton High School Class of 2026 graduate was found deceased this morning on campus,” Mielke said in the message. “The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department was notified and immediately responded. They determined there was no threat to our community. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family.”
Per the family’s request, no additional information is being shared at this time, according to the district.
Mielke said the school’s student services team will be available Thursday at the high school from noon to 2 p.m. to meet with students, family members or staff who need additional support.
Summer classes at Hamilton High School, Silver Spring Intermediate School and Woodside Elementary School were canceled Wednesday. Classes are to resume Thursday, according to Mielke.
