Warsaw says intelligence shows Moscow is preparing new provocations on Polish soil, prompting diplomatic warnings and intensified monitoring.

According to Warsaw, there is reliable information about Russia preparing new provocations in Poland.

Such information was voiced in Warsaw by Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski during a joint press conference with France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barro.

We have reliable information that the Russians are planning something again. The purpose of these warnings is to deter them from carrying out these provocations.

– Radosław Sikorski

The head of Polish diplomacy noted that he would not comment on intelligence data, but stressed that Russia is waging both hybrid and kinetic warfare against Poland and France.

According to him, this concerns attacks on democratic processes and political systems, critical infrastructure, the use of shadow fleet vessels to map strategic facilities, as well as arson, railway sabotage, drone attacks, and attempts to physically eliminate the enemies of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Sikorski reminded that on the eve of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia planned to carry out provocations “under a foreign flag” to create a pretext for aggression.

Then American intelligence services warned about it, and this deterred Russia from carrying out these provocations

In turn, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barro confirmed that Poland and France have been at the center of Russian hybrid attacks for the past four years.

The more Putin has difficulties on the front and the more he feels threatened, the more he generates such provocations

According to him, the response to such actions by Russia should be to preserve the West’s strategic course: increasing pressure on Moscow and continuing financial and military support for Ukraine.

Earlier Sikorski said that the Polish authorities had received information about possible Russian provocations from intelligence services of several allied states. He also noted that Russia is waging hybrid and cognitive warfare against the West, trying to sow discord among allies.

According to Polish intelligence, possible attacks by Russian structures are not ruled out, including against Ukrainians, in order to escalate Polish-Ukrainian relations.

The government continues to monitor the situation and calls for calm, ready to respond to any threats and coordinate actions with partners.
