Why is it trending? Click on it, and read the tweets, that’s basic twitter.
Probably an orchestrated effort by members of certain parties to get it trending. Likely using telegram and Facebook groups to organise.
How would that be racist? It’s stating a fact that we as a country are already past full capacity when it comes to accommodation
Possibly the large amount of people from the US talking about leaving do to Roe v Wade being overturned. Ireland not wanting them there.
I can guarantee most the comments come from accounts with with usernames that are @firstname1244567 It’s usually a group of people with multiple accounts so they look like a majority. Sometimes they forget to change accounts and accidentally reply to themselves.
Wouldn’t say full of racists, but like most countries we have our fair share of idiots.
As another person has said it’s probably an orchestrated attempt by certain groups that got it trending. In truth it doesn’t take much traction to get something trending on twitter in Ireland, a few hundred tweets usually does it.
Ireland has been full for years now.
It’s not racist to want the influx of migrants to slow down so the people here can get the most out of their own country without feeling the need to emigrate themselves. We are also part of a race of people who have been here a long time what’s wrong with wanting to keep it?
Appears just a small number of racists spamming tweets with the hashtag + using sockpuppets. This gent has some good info on it:
If I had to guess, census increase, Ukrainian refugee increase, non-Ukrainian asylum seeker increase and probably a bit of carry over from Sligo.
Its partly to the population increase of ~60k a year due to net-migration. Many people are angry as its overloading housing, health and other social services .
But mostly its driven over Darragh O’ Brien’s comments in the Dail, where he stated there will be no Cap on refugees from Ukraine or Asylum seekers Africa or the Middle East. Numbers are up 700% on last year alone so this is causing anger with right wingers.
I’m not on twitter. What does James May really think of Jeremy Clarkson?
Seems to be a big push from the friendless weirdo party this week, a load of posters to similar effect have sprung up all over my town since Monday.
Good post Op ye mongo.
Do you ever see the shit that trends of twitter? It’s mostly garbage
Ireland is underpopulated
No, we just ate too much.
Ireland Baldwin maybe
You’ll always find a few loopers on social media. The important thing is that they’re not the majority
I think because we can’t prove for the people already in the country let alone other people coming in
It’s nothing bad on the people coming in. More to do with the fact the government have left the place in a shocking state
Its to do with the housing shortage. How did you get racism from that?
What the FUCK this thread is full of racists mods fucking do something about it Jesus Christ how can you let these comments stay up when they’re literally overtly fascist and racist.
