The Pentagon is asking Congress to approve the shift of $4.3 billion in appropriated funds to cover higher-than-planned end-strength, pay, and permanent change-of-station moves.
The so-called reprogramming request obtained by Bloomberg Government also includes a shift of $22 million to fund the “national celebration of the US 250th anniversary throughout 2026 in cities around the country to strengthen the Army’s connection with the American public, build esprit de corps, and celebrate the Nation’s and the Army’s history and heritage.”
