When over on Mailonline they start to try come up with new ways on how to get rid of the [imbecile](https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article21077892.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_JS201040314.jpg)…
Aside from the pandemic parties, what’s he doing wrong? Does he rank up there with our charismatic character actor of a PM Trudeau? It seems like with the entire world going to shit as of late, maybe he should stay put for a bit. He does have Churchill vibes, if you found Churchill passed out on a park bench, and dragged him into parliament without letting him fix his hair.
No no no.
Like brexit means brexit,
You own this shitshow for another year or hopefully a generation.
Well this is exactly why the vote happened the other week, it was engineered so that Boris would be safe after he got a kicking in these by-elections.
If the vote was to happen next week chances are bozo would lose, especially after the biggest ever by-election defeat down in Tiverton.
The cabinet know they will never hold post again after Johnson is ousted. They’re clinging on for just as long as him.
Those pesky ‘rules’ getting in the way again.
Call me cynical but I wouldn’t be surprised if the no confidence vote was called when it was intentionally. Let’s face it, the tories aren’t dumb. They know they’re losing votes, they know they’ll lose power at the next GE.
Having the vote of no confidence when it was only secures Boris for another year. It would have carried more weight if it was held now off the back of these 2 by-elections. The useless turd still won’t step down and surviving the no confidence vote secured his position regardless of these election results.
Let’s face it, it pains me to say but we’re stuck with him until the next GE.
All they have to do is keep ‘leaking’ some of the dodgy shit he’s been upto to the papers until he finally has to quit.
The Tories can oust Boris whenever they like, but why would they when they can get Boris to carry the can for the coming recession and poor economy for the next 12 months?
They will replace him just before the general election and give his successor a clean slate and the ability to say “I’ll fix all the problems that Boris caused” whilst waiting for the economy to recover then taking the credit.
You can’t bypass democratic system because it doesn’t suit.
Changing rules on the fly is what this set of Tories does “best”.
They put their money where their mouth is and they vote no confidence in the government.
If they want to have an(other) option of avoiding an election they stick a trailer on the VONC saying that the commons has two weeks to choose another PM during which Boris cannot call for election, but if a new PM isn’t chosen by those two weeks parliament will be dissolved and an election called.
It would take around 40 of them.
That’s it.
Whether the party was able to come up with a replacement PM or not is a question. Boris could just kick the VONCers out instead and go to the polls and possibly still win a majority. (I hold only the barest hope that the current opinion polls will translate to real votes and a nonconservative government.)
However, if these rebels have really finally understood that Alexander de Pfeffel is a corrupt, irredeemable and useless PM who has to be stopped. I say to them: you tried to keep this within the party – that failed. VONC him, by all means, give the party another chance by forcing them to face an election if they don’t get rid of him, but if they don’t – you must see that the rot runs all the way through. Let the electorate get rid of the party. If the party still wins with Boris remaining at the helm then at least you tried but you cannot pretend that a government led by him is good for the country (or the party)
