  1. >Ukrainian refugees could be forced on a flight to Rwanda if they arrive “illegally” in the UK, Boris Johnson has admitted.
    >
    >The Prime Minister confessed “that could happen” if people fleeing Putin’s war end up taking dangerous boats across the Channel.
    >
    >Human rights campaigners have previously blasted the different way the UK treats refugees from countries like Iraq, who were almost forced to Rwanda last week, and Ukrainians who have been given a major visa scheme.
    >
    >According to the UK, that means Ukrainians should not have to turn to small boats or fridge lorries chosen by more desperate migrants with fewer options.
    >
    >But even the Ukrainian scheme has flaws. This week the UK tweaked its policy to include unaccompanied children after a four-year-old girl was sent back to Kharkiv.
    >
    >Speaking to reporters on a trip to Rwanda’s capital Kigali, Boris Johnson did not rule out Ukrainians – if they decide to take “illegal” routes to Britain – being put on removal flights.

  2. Now we’re in the season finale of the tory clown show.

Get up and dance everybody, this is what you voted for isn’t it

  3. Imagine going to Ukraine multiple times a year claiming you support their fight, but you admit that you would deport them to an authoritarian country.

  4. This is an awful thing to do to people and the UK should be disgusted, But I blame Australia, Afterall, it’s they who I introduced this kind of ‘ catch ’em, ship ’em off somewhere else & pay a pittance to that country to look after them’ policy (look after them poorly may I add)

Interesting to watch what Australia has done to refugees over the past 20 years and very few seem care enough to kick up a stink! I wish they would, but they don’t, and that makes me wonder if it’s all poltical pantomime. 😶

  5. So a hypothetical problem presented as a real one. Let’s assume for now that nobody from Ukraine will be daft enough to take a small boat across the channel when there is a visa scheme for the UK and they are welcome pretty much everywhere else too.

  6. Instead of punishing people for what people traffickers do why don’t they just improve the legal ways to get over here it would put the trafficers out of business pretty quick if people don’t have to pay for a shitty dinghy

  7. No one would care about that. The Ukrainian refugees are considered to be white people, so no one would give a damn if they were sent off packing to Rwanda.

  8. Good, fair and square.

Arrive illegally (from anywhere) and you go to Rwanda for processing. If the claim is valid then visa issued and returned to UK.

I don’t see any problems here, don’t arrive illegally no matter where you are from.

    👍

  9. I may be wrong but Ukrainian refugees are being rightly welcomed into pretty much all countries with open arms although possibly in the case of the UK due to the ridiculous amount of red tape it is not happening as quickly as it should be but this does not make coming into the country illegally the correct thing to do!!!!
