COLUMBIA, Miss. (WDAM) – The United Way of Southeast Mississippi is getting ready to host a back-to-school event Saturday that’s free of charge for the whole family.
Organizers are preparing for the third annual Marion County Education & Health Fair.
It’ll be held Saturday in the Community Room of the Marion County Businessplex.
The event will have free school supplies and school uniforms, along with health screenings and refreshments.
Sponsors include the Salvation Army, BankPlus and the Marion County Board of Supervisors.
“It’s a chance for families, mostly with children, to come out and learn about all the different resources, both educational and health-wise, for their families,” United Way of Southeast Mississippi President and CEO Amy Lyon said.
“We have school supplies we’re handing out, school uniforms, free haircuts for kids, lunch, so it’s a great day to really connect with the help that families can receive in their area.”
The Education & Health Fair will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
