Hello! I was in Prague for a few days and had this dish called “Hamburg pork shoulder” or something like that. The dish is no longer on the restaurant’s menu so I can’t find the right keywords to look for a recipe. Does anyone know what it’s called? Thanks!

Probably “Hamburská vepřová pečeně” 🙂
Literally any czech dish with meat, gravy (omačka) and knedlik. No offence, fellow czechs.
It gonna be “Hamburská vepřová pečeně”, if you wanna test some good dishes, you should try “Svíčková”, “Segedínský guláš” or “Vepřové výpečky”
They made me hate this food so much in the school canteen that I have would never expect that someone would go into restaurant to buy it. But in the school canteen almost everything tasted like shit.
As others confirmed, it’s *hamburská*.
Anyway, there are better ones in this category, e.g. *svíčková* or *rajská*, both are from beef.
Sauce with pickles is called znojemská pečeně
This and Znojemská are the only dishes I hate from our cuisine. It’s probably those pickles. I love them but not in sauces.
idk but it really looks like svíčková/candle sauce with pork and bread dumplings

Last time I was in Prague, I just said “Njoki i svinjetina” and I got that.
So cool Czechs know Croatian.
Svickova na smetane.
In Czech it is called: *”Hamburská vepřová pečeně.”*
Here is the Czech version of the recipe:

Old good Svíčková.
The name is Svíčková.
With the name Hamburg, the sauce is probably supposed to be Jaeger Sosse, although it looks more like Rahm. Extremely popular in Germany, add Hollandaise and you have covered most German meals.
[Here](https://mydinner.co.uk/rahmsauce/) is an english language recipe for Rahm sauce. Jaeger is simply a more complicated version including onions, mushrooms and parsley/thyme which the chef in the establishment you visited cheaped out on.
It looks like one of the most disgusting Czech foods. Perhaps right after rozstřelený španělský ptáček.
Now excuse me, I have to go vomit.
Honestly that bread looks like it’d be the best bread you’ll ever have in your existence as a being
I’d call the waiter over and tell him: “Excuse me kind sir, I have a complaint. There seems to be some meat on my plate… Also, could you please get me some more bread? Thanks dude.”
