Detectives investigating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are reportedly preparing to travel to the US to speak with the family of his accuser Virginia Giuffre.
Thames Valley Police are planning to speak with the relatives of Giuffre, who died by suicide in April last year, about her allegations of sexual assault against Andrew, The Times reported.
The former duke of York, who was arrested in February, is under police investigation on suspicion of misconduct in public office in relation to his connections with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The allegations relate to documents released as part of the United States Department of Justice’s Epstein files drop.
Police have also been assessing reports about a woman said to have been taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for sexual purposes.
The former prince has denied any wrongdoing over his links to the convicted sex offender.
Detectives investigating Andrew want to talk to Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, and her sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, according to The Times.
The meeting will not be in the form of a formal interview as the pair are not deemed direct witnesses to the allegations, the newspaper reported.
What accusations did Virginia Giuffre make against Andrew?
Giuffre, a prominent accuser of Epstein and Andrew, made allegations against Andrew in 2015, which sparked a defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, after she described Giuffre’s accusations as “obvious lies”.
In 2022, Andrew settled a US lawsuit brought by Giuffre in which she accused him of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager. The settlement amount is undisclosed but understood to have been a multimillion-pound payout.

She also wrote a memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, in which she detailed allegations of harrowing abuse at the hands of powerful men.
It also features her accounts of meeting with Andrew on numerous occasions.
In the book, which was published last year, Giuffre said she was introduced to Andrew in March 2001 while staying at Epstein’s girlfriend and associate Ghislaine Maxwell’s house, near London’s Hyde Park.
She wrote that when she met Andrew he correctly guessed her age of 17 years. “‘My daughters are just a little younger than you,’ he told me, explaining his accuracy,’” the memoir says.
How has Andrew responded to the accusations?
The former prince continues to deny any wrongdoing. In a statement about relinquishing his duke of York title in 2025, Andrew repeated that the claims against him were untrue.
“As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me,” he said.
What have Thames Valley Police said?
Thames Valley Police, the force leading the misconduct in public office investigation, previously said it is examining a number of aspects of alleged misconduct following the release of files under the Epstein Files Transparency Act in the United States.
“We are also speaking with a number of witnesses, however as per national guidance we cannot confirm or deny the identities of these individuals,” it added.
In its latest statement, a Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Our misconduct in public office investigation is ongoing. We cannot go into specifics of the investigation, but we are following all reasonable lines of enquiry.”
