This shit scares me – it’s hard enough reading about it happening in America with the Atlantic Ocean between me and the crazy Nazi people with guns. Glad they were caught but there are definitely more out there in this country cooking up insane plans to kill people.
No one in here talking about how they likely just have a plastic filament printer? Where they getting the barrel and mechanism from?
I can absolutely believe them to be neo nazis and think they’re superior based on absolutely nothing they’ve achieved themselves. They look like they’d stop me in town and ask me if I want to buy a bus ticket.
The big problem of printing a plastic gun in the UK is obtaining the bullets. 3D printed guns are made with hard ABS plastic.
Most entry level cheap printers use PLA which is much weaker. Printed guns also need some metal parts.
Getting bullets and gun metal parts might be quite easy in the US, but not so in the UK. I think the danger of printed guns in the UK is overstated. If these neo nutters were really committed they would be stealing guns or buying them from criminals. Fortunately they don’t look brave enough to do that.
So they got caught downloading a file and sending it to the 3d printer.
Probably a function built into the 3d printing software to alert authorities.
