TfL: Sadiq Khan warns Tube and bus cuts are imminent

  1. Another nail being hammered into coffin for the Tory government, it would be fun to watch if we didn’t have to live with their decisions

  2. That diagram showing how other public transport networks are funded says it all really. How can we have the highest taxes for decades and yet the Tories seem hell bent on running public services into the ground? Where does all the money go?

  3. Observation.

If Johnson had any brains he’d shelve any tax changes he’s dreaming up and instead halve bus, train, tube and light rail fares indefinitely. That would help the average Brit more than a tax break, it would move people into public transport as petrol prices will no doubt not be going back to ‘normal’, ever again and it would silence left critics like the Mayor.

    Alas, “Bojo has no brain”

  4. The problem with this is he is not willing to play politics back. Suspend all tubes and buses in boroughs that votes Tory for a week. Put a big sign outside saying “sorry, but by order of the chancellor this station is closed”.

  5. A private tfl would be shite route with low rider ship would close gaps between trains and busses would expand prices would sky rocket

  6. And what’s he doing about it?

If it’s anything like what he’s doing about the rampant knife crime and murder rate in his capital amongst teens, he’s going to be doing sweet FA except blame the Tories for his failings as per usual.
