Berlin-Peck Library plans busy second half of July with programs for all | News

Special children’s events also include Campfire Cookies July 14, Backyard Nature with the Hungerford Nature Center July 15, the Youth Theater Guild of Berlin’s performance of Once Upon A Time July 16, Miss Britt’s Dance Academy July 18, Ballerina Storytime July 21, Paws for Reading with Walter the therapy dog and Family BINGO Night July 22, Makerspace: Robots! July 23, Bucket Hat Decorating July 28 and a storytime and craft with local author Stephanie Villeda-Schaedler July 29.

Adults can take part in several creative and educational programs throughout the month. The library will offer a Block Printing 101 workshop July 14, Sit & Stitch gatherings July 16 and 23, the monthly Cookbook Club July 20, the Saturday Morning Book Club July 25 and the Writers Group July 28. A Dementia Caregiver Support Group will meet July 20, while Lawyers in Libraries July 27 will provide free one-on-one legal advice by appointment on topics including family law, immigration, landlord-tenant issues, employment and consumer rights.

The library will also host three online author talks. Karin Slaughter will discuss her North Falls series July 14, Reyna Grande will speak about her new memoir July 16 and Dr. Marisa Franco will present a discussion on friendship and relationships July 28.

Movie fans can enjoy several free screenings, including Across the River and Into the Trees July 17, GOAT July 18, 1776 July 24 and First Man July 25.

Other programs include Tea Club pickup July 25 and Summer Reading Team Trivia Night July 29.
