Hugh Laurie praises RMT worker for ‘cleaning up’ in strike interviews

  1. He’s definitely done a fantastic job of making all these pricks look daft. It’s been fantastic viewing. Refusing to rise to the bait from Burley and making her make some cringey quip about her age has been the highlight so far.

Amazing the media would rather spend time trying to get a gotcha to quote than you know doing any fucking journalism. All they’ve done this week is prove even more so that they will spout whichever government talking point they are told to.

  2. It’s the blatant lies and smug sense of self-satisfaction that gets me with this idiots.

I’d respect them a whole lot more if they just came out and said, “Yeah, we’re striking because we just want even more money than what we already get, but, honestly, we just simply want to make the Tories look bad is all, and hopefully pave the way for a Labour government to take power, which we’re always happy to fund.”

I’d respect them if they just told the truth like that. Hell, I might even say in response to that, “OK, well good luck with that. The Tories don’t need any help making themselves look bad, but you do you”

But the fact they lie so blatantly and try to play the role of victims to garner any sort of public support for their base greed, like they have “no other choice” but to strike because it’s in their workers favour, is all just pathetic bollocks.

Just be honest with yourselves and the public, RMT. I respect honesty.

  3. I had to look up what “picador” means. The man who during a bullfight comes out and goads the bull. Fine description of these journalists who try to prod you to get a reaction out of you.

  4. He totally has the Murdoch media feeding from the palm of his hand. He’s also right about Labour since Bliar abandoning working class people.

  5. The right wing of the press, media and associated picadors are really out to make this industrial dispute a class-inspired aggravation. Actually, that’s not a bad idea.

  6. It shows the real state of our journalism when by just staying calm and sticking to his talking points causes them to completely lose control of the interview. They are so desperate to try and control the narrative they don’t seem to know what to do when he doesn’t play along. It’s embarrassing

  7. Such a shame that Labour have caused all of this. They would of had a fairer chance of winning something had they not supported these strikes. On the plus sure it looks like Boris will easily win another election so he can work on Brexit being even more successful
