RMT union boss says government ‘keep putting worse things on the table’

  1. That’s one solid way of negotiating, they need to choose at what point they are willing to compromise before any offers are withdrawn completely.

  2. I’m getting the sense that the government is being pretty naïve with all this. I guess they’re so used to having the upper hand against working class people, it’s very difficult to recognise when they’ve pushed their luck.

  3. Undoubtably the government is seeing this as their ‘break the strikes’ / ‘put the plebs in their place’ / thatcher miners strike moment, which is simply astonishing given the times we live in and the circumstances involved. They just can’t help themselves because their egos are too inflated and brains too rotted with their failed ideology.

I hope the RMT grinds their bones into dust.

  4. “But Tory MP Robert Jenrick, who was also appearing on Peston, denied Mr Lynch’s claim, saying, “it’s a very different situation to the P&O issue.”

“That was a company breaching the law, treating its workers in an appalling manner, and the harm was quite clearly being done to the workers,” Mr Jenrick said”

But it’s ok when the government wants to do it.
