Brexit is working and naysayers have axes to grind, claims David Frost

  1. >Frost played a leading role in the Brexit negotiations, first as an adviser to Boris Johnson as foreign secretary and then as the prime minister’s Brexit trade negotiator. While he won plaudits among Brexiters for sealing a trade deal in December 2020, his continued criticism of Europe has antagonised many in Brussels.

    >He suggested on Wednesday it was up to the EU to restore relations: “Does the EU want Brexit to work? Can it rise above the current frictions and work with the UK as a trusted partner, or will it continue to hassle and lecture us?”

Chances are the EU will treat the UK as being an intentionally untrustworthy trading partner and simply ringfence-sanction its activities at the border.

Kiss goodbye to cooperation at any regulatory level within trade or finance.

  2. Careful now Frosty. They’ve started investigating how Bojo’s mistresses got their public sector job.

    “Unelected bureaucrats” indeed.

  3. Come on people this is all our fault, obviously. Brexit would be perfect of we all just believed a little bit harder!

Careful if Frostie starts handing out fruit flavoured drinks though we know what happened at Jonestown when people stopped believing enough.

  4. If Brexit is working, they should be able to produce a report detailing exactly how Brexit is working, no?

  5. He fails to point out any supposed benefits of Brexit becoming a reality, and instead refutes that the current economic situation is partially down to Brexit.

Claiming that Brexit is not not working is not the same as claiming Brexit is working.

  6. I mean I was never 100% on Europe, thought it could be a bit slow and somtimes prone to being stupid, but even I know frosts a prick, wouldn’t trust word he says

(for the record, Idve rather we stayed and tried to fix some of the problems from within)

  7. He’s quite right, because the whole point of this was to end things like prosperity, opportunity and progress. Once you understand the actual goals of it’s supporters, Brexit makes perfect sense. It’s getting past all the lies about Sovereignty and democracy that is the hard part…

  8. Brexit is working, in that it’s doing exactly what it was meant to do: Take rights away from citizens, and give more power to the Tories.

  9. As a sidenote has anyone seen a more dull-eyed, expressionless shell of a human before?
I’ve never seen a single emotion on his face.
