  1. Woo and yet we are 20 year behind everyone else in terms of public transport, availability of healthcare and urban development

  2. Couple of shops near me are closing down, as they can’t cover soaring costs and less people coming in buying.

Very much has that recession feel to it.

  3. Genuine question, why are we so much more expensive than everywhere else across all sectors? Is it because we are an Island nation and import everything. Can’t think of many other reasons. Also not sure how anyone can fix it or reverse costs.

  4. YAY!!!!

    NUMBA ONE!

And this is hot on the heels of having the most drug-related deaths per capita in europe as well.

Really arriving on the international scene here

  5. I posted this before, I got a quote for $13600 to rent a car at Christmas for just over a month from Dublin airport.

  6. It’s unsurprising because we have insane direct and indirect taxes on so many things, and then lack of socialised services for other things. Meaning you put your hand in your pocket for fucking everything.

Want to buy a new car? Here’s 10 grand of VRT ontop of the price.

Maybe a few beers? Sure have some MUP.

Maybe you want buy a house? If you can find one, here’s a mortgage interest rate double what someone in the UK or Netherlands is paying.

How about having a child? That’s 1000 quid a month in crèche fees please.

  7. Meanwhile every newspaper is seething over the lonely planets review warning tourists to avoid visiting and no doubt everyone’s gonna be shocked when our tourism industry is absolutely dead in the coming years
