Storms knock out power to over 1,400 Duke Energy customers in Henderson County

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Over 1,400 customers are without power in Henderson County, according to the Duke Energy outage map.

As of 2:44 p.m. Saturday, 1,486 Duke Energy customers in Henderson County are without power.

There are two major outages in the county at this time.

In the Ridge Road area, the outage map shows 629 customers are without power. The cause is unknown at this time. The status is being updated at this time.

In the Indian Cove area, the outage map shows 529 customers are without power. The outage map states the cause as lightning in or near the area. Crews are working to resolve this outage.

There is currently a thunderstorm warning in effect for McDowell County, according to the National Weather Service.
