Council claims it had no duty of care to girl (5) bitten by dog while on playdate at tenant’s house

  1. Fux ache, better ban all council tenants from having any pets just in case one of them injures a visitor to one of the properties.

  2. Ridiculous that the council has to even respond to this, waste of money getting legal advice and submitting to court.

  3. What a f-cking joke. The only people responsible are the dog owners. Stop leaving pets and children alone together!!! especially a child that’s just visiting.

  4. IIRC council paid up in similar case recently. A tennant if a house left a dog on the loose and it bit a child in a play area on the councils estate. Council to blame because it had a no dog policy. Go figure but that’s what happened. No. 1 rule in the country seems to be that the injured party gets very well paid, it’s just a matter of who does the paying and lawyers go after whoever can pay. Madness. Nice if you get hurt though and I hope in the above case that the injured party is adequately compensated, just wish those responsible paid for it.
