I really have to go out to inis mor one day. I’ve still never been but it seems so expensive even to stay one night on the island.
I went a few weeks ago and ended up getting a bus tour (we did 11am ferry and 4pm back). One of the stops of the tour was ‘the end of the island’…it was a great day out, the guide told us how it was back in the day. No currency just potatoes and dried fish to barter!
Looks like Mick McCarthys nose.
I’ve been to Inis Mór three times but only on my last trip in March did I go to Poll na bpéist. Got completely lost trying to pick my way down to the edge of it and then the roaring Atlantic literally metres away scared me too much. Doubled back and climbed up to view it from above instead. Incredible spot; the force of nature you experience is really impressive.
