Found this cutie in the middle of the Royal Canal Greenway trail path while on a run this afternoon in Ireland. It didn’t budge when I ran right past, and lured it to the side for safety- not sure about wild birds but there’s definitely some eager cyclists moving by, and people walking their dogs.

I nearly squashed a tiny little shrew with my bike, little fella was on my local greenway, i spotted ’em in the nick of time, deep swerve, and relocated the little thing into a grassy area fearing maybe the next person passing wouldn’t notice.
I felt faint the whole way back.
Had one run right up my toes while walking a stretch of the Wicklow Way at the beginning of last month, it just sniffing away at the boots. They’re oddly confident with people.
