Government acts to make it easier for businesses to use temporary staff to help ease disruptions caused by strike action

  1. This is the reason why the government is holding back on negotiations. Introducing this law, restricts all unions. Private companies will now be able to provide staff at higher rates and therefore increase costs on the public. This will affect Nurses, Teachers and any others. Standards will drop and profits for the very few at the top!

  2. Ah yes let’s hire scabs who a notorious at fucking up the jobs they’re brought into, a major rail disaster is incoming, I’m calling it.

  3. Another blatant attack on worker’s rights and you know what’s *really* sad? There’s no way a future Labour government will be able to reverse this. They’ll be too worried about being called communists. So they’ll just let this stand.

  4. I just love the idea these people think there is some kind of agency with hundreds of railworks engineers just sat waiting for a day’s work lol.

Completely and utterly disconnected from reality but since when has that ever stopped one of these Tories?

  5. Why are the train unions against using agency staff? Giving the company a larger pool of cheaper workers to hire from is good right? Just like FoM it wouldn’t lower the workers wages would it? That’s what all the economist agree on. Adding more workers, especially poor ones, has zero affect on peoples wages or conditions, if you close your eyes of course.
