Teen avoids custodial sentence over incident where girl was knocked under Dart at Howth Junction

  1. Judge absolutely bottled it here. Should be considered like an attempted murder charge. Even without falling onto traintracks, thats a hard drop and if she hit her head she could have died. The disgusting leniency in this country empowers these scumbags to feel untouchable. It is ruining our cities.

“The accused swung his foot at a girl from his bike, making contact with her head”. Absolute coward. People like this are the ones who go on to beating their parter later in life. Should be on parole for a decade to keep an eye on them

  2. >His mother, present at the hearing, was described as very pro-social and against offending behaviour.

    Dafuq does that even mean?

  3. The justice system is letting us down here. It can’t let yer man walk free *and* not tell us who he is.

Are the rest of us just supposed to hope we don’t run into him? What kind of public safety is that?

  4. If the incident genuinely made this guy change his life, then that’s good (as the article seems to say). It could also be bullshit the solicitor told him to say or do to get off without punishment too.

I just think we need to stop the assembly line of this behaviour from these little cunts. They feel fine with threatening people and doing shit like this guy did, like purposely swinging his leg off the bike at a crazy height and if he hits anyone it’s ‘jesus love, I was just getting off my bike, wasn’t trying to hit ya’. It wouldn’t surprise me if this is the only time this lad faced any backlash for his actions in his life.

  5. Who could have possibly predicted this outcome!

    ✅ Terrorising passengers on trains

✅ Kick a child in the head

✅ Be in a gang which kicked another child under a train

    ✅ Intimidating passers by

✅ Flee the scene of the attack

    ✅ Fail to come forward

    ✅ Refuse to admit guilt

✅ Cause the expense and inconvenience of a trial

    ❌ Prison

Citizens need a way to be able to recall out-of-touch judges from their positions who refuse to protect society from thuggery.

  6. It’s such an absolute joke of a justice system. There’s no fear of getting a serious sentence from these scumbags, they know they’ll get off completely or get a suspended sentence.

  7. Judges need to be held accountable to someone and be at risk of being de judged / disbarred (or whatever the correct term is)

Way too often do we read in the media about the ridiculous leniency applied to cases.

All this will do is to teach the little scrote that the law will give him multiple chances and to not change his behaviou

  8. >One had an additional charge for assaulting the girl knocked under the train; his case has been separated and sent to the Circuit Court for trial.

This isn’t the cunt who actually did the relevant bit fwiw.

  9. Without the whole for and against judges stuff, can anyone honestly tell me how he wasn’t sentenced? What’s the legal implications for him bit gettibg time?

  10. And this, people, is why you see more scumbags than ever before in your cities: because your Justice is filled with bleeding-heart abolitionists

  11. And that’s why we have little thuggy cunts roaming around doing whatever they want, because they know they’re untouchable. Ironically, you’d probably get harsher punishment defending yourself from these little pricks.

  12. “Counsel said he had been self-medicating on cannabis at the time”

Wtf do they mean self-medicating. Being stoned is not self medicated, it’s being stoned. That ‘counsel’ should embarrassed of the white they’re coming out with

  13. The irony is that if I swung a first at these scumbags I’d be getting a custodial sentence. Yet because they’re technically children in the eyes of the law they’re allowed to get away with whatever they want

  14. I see the government has launched its new however-many-year-plan to tackle gender-based violence today. This, right here, is probably the #1 reason for that and so many other issues in Irish society being so god damn prevalent. Every individual involved in that gang in any way whatsoever on the day should be locked up for at least a year or two. Not in the hopes of reforming them, but in the hopes of keeping them off the streets before they harm someone else.

A changed man my fucking *hole*. Anyone who engages in that kind of violent scumbaggery because they think it’s “fun” has something wrong with them psychologically and is a danger to everyone else in public spaces, simple as that. The longer we can have them off the streets altogether, the better. Do house arrest with ankle tags for all I care, if prison space is such a problem at the moment, but FFS impose limits on their ability to congregate in a public space with other violent scumbags and cause a dangerous menace to other people. Simple as that.

We can have all the “strategies” in the world for dealing with violent crime, but if part of said strategy is not accepting that some people are just assholes *by nature*, are not going to change, and need to be managed from the point of view of limiting their freedom to engage in random violence, then any such strategy is doomed to failure.

To put this in starker terms: Each of these individuals felt, in their minds, that at the very very least frightening and harassing people trying to catch a train was *fun*. An enjoyable activity. A laugh.

Not something to feel sympathy or empathy towards the victims of. Not something to react with anger or sadness upon seeing the video footage. Not something to make one feel sorry for the people targeted.

    A *laugh*.

That very *mindset* is quite simply the hallmark of a *bad person*. And no amount of hand wringing or talking around it is going to change that simple fact. There are bad people in this world, these individuals are among them, and those bad people cannot be changed. They can only be mitigated against.

The sooner Irish society realises this unfortunate but simple fact, the better. And god dammit it’s heartbreaking and sad to say it, but it’s the fucking truth. Today’s “troubled youths with a bad upbringing” or whatever the excuse given in court, are tomorrow’s “Kinahan cartel lieutenants well known to the Gardaí and suspected of multiple gangland shootings”, or “violent criminals with numerous previous convictions today found guilty of murdering their wives”, or “suspects in fatal stabbing rampage on Saturday night with a long history of violent behaviour”.

There isn’t enough focus on this IMO – the underlying psychological sadism which gives rise to honestly believing, deep down, that violently terrorising random strangers is *fun*.

Such people are dangerous. It’s as simple as that. And nine times out of ten, they’re not going to grow out of it. They’re going to grow up to be tomorrow’s dangerous gangland criminals, serial rapists, etc. They need to be locked up – not for the sake of their own rehabilitation, but for the sake of the rest of our basic right to safety in public places.

  15. Well that’s retarded. This is why youth gang violence still exists. Because of retards like these

  16. Judges in this country are a damn disgrace. Half of them are incompetent going by their age I’m sure some are incontinent and none are living in the real world.

  17. I got told a few months ago on this sub though that the law would take care of it and I was overreacting making an example of them lol. They’ll go do it again now no bother.

  18. In 20 years when Dublin becomes in of the most dangerous cities in Europe, I wonder if the judicial system will still be this lenient.
