The desperation by the media to paint action in favour of worker rights as negative is almost hilarious. If it wasn’t for the fact a lot of the population will gobble it up I’d be laughing.
Edit: Just saw this feeble attempt by Sky News to bait a soundbite suggesting violence by the strikers https://v.redd.it/8ulrnrvu8y691
GB News, the home of free speech, unless you say something our viewers don’t like
I mean, even if he doesn’t agree with the strike, it’s gunna be good for business right?
What is GB news?
The media are trying to frame it so that people go “I’m not getting a pay rise, so why should they?” This puts working class people against each other and stops them looking at the rich and their excessive wealth. People should look at these strikes and think “Why are only the rich getting a pay rise above inflation?” instead.
What do you expect from an agenda led media organisation? (I could not bring myself to use the word “news” in relation to them).
Never watched GB News. Is there any before/after to provide context for this interview? Are there lengthier interviews with anti-strike Norwichians? Without seeing footage from either side it feels ‘need to get back to the studio for the news’ curtailed, rather than ‘get this bloke off air’ curtailed.
Wasn’t really cut short, I mean he asked him a question, he allowed him to answer in full and then said “thanks for talking to me”….
Were you expecting a full 30 minute special with this guy or something?
Why is it that platforms that tout themselves as being all about free speech can’t even maintain a façade of it?
You could let that play out and then line up a bunch of people knock it down if you wanted to, this just shows that they don’t give a toss.
Our local bulllshit rag posted on Facebook a list of rail workers salaries to stir up shit but it totally backfired
Aside from anything else why would you interview someone who stands to gain financially from prolonged rail strikes and expect them to be against them?
Reminds me of Kevin Nash going on Fox News and embarrased them by remaining calm, politely explaining wrestling and giving smart answers to the point where Fox shouted at him, tried to get him to get angry so they could run with the dumb wrestler angle and just cut him off.
I couldn’t see how it was cut short
I love how everyone in this sub can see how transparent the media bullshit is. But does it make you question the other narratives of the media too when you can see how blatant it is here. It’s how you start sliding in to ‘conspiracy theory’ territory. The Iraq war, 911, false terror, anti Russian propaganda. If you can’t trust an entity on one thing can you trust them at all to give you the right information. And at what point do they become complicit?
I mean what did British Bootleg Fox News expect?
They’re interviewing a member of the public that literally benefits from strike action like this, not an anti-work subreddit moderator.
Don’t give oxygen to these revolting pieces of shit – trying to rile up the UK populace in order to further the agenda of a handful of billionaires (aka “The Conservative Party”).
Right-wingers are finding their bubble is going the way of most bubbles.
The Tory account is calling them “Labour’s strikes” like everyone brighter than Darren Grimes knew they would, we’re all used to Government by Gaslight now. It’s infuriating but it’s desperate. They’re out and they know it.
Surely a taxi driver would support workers of other types of transport going on strike, even if they didn’t agree with the reason, since it’s more money in their pockets.
People still need to get from A to B, I’m sure plenty who usually get the train and have no suitable bus alternative will be using taxis / uber to get where they need to go.
Brilliant example of billionaire backed news channel trying to force the narrative against the immovable opinion of a working class taxi driver. Fucking love it.
Media take on a 3 day rail strike.
Low income earners will lose their jobs!
Children will fail their exams!
Doctors and nurses won’t be able to get to hospital!
For the vast vast majority of rail users its a minor inconvenience at most and they have all had several weeks to make alternative arrangements.
The best bit is the governments argument is doctors, nurses and carers are not on high wages. Like what?
Is this really the whole interview? Because that’d be super weird since the mic is being held towards the cabbie at the start of it.
So the taxi driver wasn’t cut off at all, and he was given plenty of time to clearly state his position and opinion on the matter.
I watched it excited to see something cringe but they didn’t cut him short at all, in fact they gave him a tonne of time to answer, who’s upvoting this?!
Watched the interview, they didn’t cut it short at all. This is anti-GB rhetoric.
A cabbie supporting public transport strikes? Never would’ve guessed…
I love the fact that the media are pushing a narrative that workers asking their pay to be restored to a livable standard are the lazy, greedy, unreasonable ones, not millionaire CEOs and billionaire shareholders who want to make greater profits. Not only that, when an impasse is reached between these groups and the less-well-off group see no further recourse than to withdraw their labour and forfeit that pay, they are somehow even more the baddies?
It goes to show the mindset of the “elite” in this country: entitled, privileged and innately resentful that they should share their wealth even in recompense for services rendered.
Clickbait. Nothing was cut short, he allowed him to finish his point. This sub just blinded upvotes anything that fits their narrative without reading the content. The video goes on for a few more minutes and they have a discussion.
It’s funny that the article by the londonecononmic is begging for donations below the article to ‘protect journalism’ when they’re spreading lies.
Fake news from The London Economic yet again ✅
Tbf a train strike is good for business in his case!
GB News would black up people to claim they’re not racist cos “even the blacks agree with them.”
Particularly enjoyed the ‘were made of stronger stuff around these parts’
