As utility-scale solar projects become increasingly interconnected, GameChange Energy believes developers need more integrated solutions rather than standalone products. That vision was at the center of the company’s presence at Intersolar Europe 2026, where it introduced its unified GameChange Energy brand alongside an expanded portfolio spanning mechanical, electrical and digital technologies.
In this interview with Review Energy, Javier Lapiedra, Senior Director at GameChange Energy, shares how the company is evolving beyond trackers, the significance of becoming the world’s No. 2 solar tracker provider, and its plans to further strengthen its presence across Europe.
Review Energy (R.E.): What’s new from GameChange Energy this year at Intersolar?
Javier Lapiedra (J.L.): This year’s Intersolar comes at a pivotal moment for us. It’s the first time we’ve attended under the unified GameChange Energy brand, which better reflects the scale and scope of the company. We’re evolving from being known primarily as a solar tracker supplier to becoming a broader energy infrastructure company delivering module-to-grid solutions.
Another important milestone is that we’ve recently been recognized as the world’s No. 2 solar tracker company, which validates the confidence our customers have placed in us and reflects the company’s growth.
On the technology side, we’re also showcasing GeniusHub for the first time at one of these events, allowing visitors to see how our on-site software platform complements our Genius Tracker solution.
R.E.: What changes are being communicated through this consolidated brand?
J.L.: The company consolidated its solar tracker, transformer, eBOS, and robotic asset monitoring divisions under a single unified brand. The new name defines more clearly what GameChange Energy offers under its wider portfolio.
However, our core philosophy hasn’t changed. For more than a decade, we’ve built our reputation by helping customers develop utility-scale solar projects with products that are faster to install, highly reliable, and designed for long-term resilience. This is our DNA that will always remain unchanged.
R.E.: What’s the strategy behind the GameChange Energy name?
J.L.: The strategy comes as a result of our continuous effort to always offer our clients the highest possible value. Product compatibility minimizes risks and simplifies project management for our clients. Mechanical, electrical, and digital systems can no longer be considered separately because every engineering decision influences CAPEX, energy yield, constructability, monitoring, and ultimately project profitability.
R.E.: GameChange Energy is now the world’s No. 2 solar tracker company. What does that mean for business?
J.L.: Above all, it’s validation.
Reaching that position isn’t only about shipment volumes. It also reflects bankability, technical expertise, field support, and long-term reliability—qualities that customers expect when selecting technology partners for utility-scale projects.
For our customers, it reinforces the confidence that they’re partnering with a company that’s committed to supporting them throughout the entire project lifecycle.
R.E.: How does this global leadership strengthen GameChange Energy’s position in Europe?
J.L.: Being the world’s second-largest tracker supplier certainly brings credibility, but our value proposition in Europe goes well beyond scale.
Europe is strategic because it is one of the markets where the value of engineering is most clearly understood. It is also one of the most demanding and sophisticated markets in the world.
European customers assess every decision with great discipline: cost, bankability, construction schedule, technical risk, local content, long-term operation, and terrain adaptability. This business approach aligns with the way we work and where GameChange Energy stands out by bringing real value to projects.
