NANAIMO — Police arrested a man for an alleged sexual assault in the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre steam room.

Nanaimo RCMP state the 43-year-old man was apprehended and released on conditions on Friday, July 17, a day following the alleged incident.

Insp. Donovan Tait with Nanaimo RCMP is not revealing the nature of the alleged assault, citing an active investigation.

“There will be a follow-up investigation, we’ll cover off any loose ends if there are any and put a fulsome package for Crown counsel,” Insp. Tait told NanaimoNewsNOW.
