This is the standard response these days when anyone does anything bad. The orange order lads had similar statements.
I dunno but I’m guessing a lot of the people attacking him on twitter would have #BeKind in their profiles…
Jesus, say the title of this post 10 times in a row really fast.
So the club are scumbags as well.
The gist of their statement is “sure we’ve all tried to blind someone at some point”
>Ah sure he’s only an angel he’d never hurt a fly
The angel:
GAA player does violent shit, out comes the “he’s a great club man” bollocks
“Sure, like most people, he’s gouged some eyes, but….”
That is my club and I have played football with Tiernan and know him. What they say is true he is a great lad and nothing like what he did. How many of you have ever actually played Gaelic? If you have you’ve probably got into some scuffles and you would know that in the moment everything happens so fast that there is no thinking involved. I’m sure he regrets what he did but there is no need for everyone to be getting on like this so I’m proud of my club for defending him and am sure he will learn from this and continue to do what he does which is be a sound lad and a brilliant footballer and role model despite this.
You all just can’t wait to jump on whatever bandwagon there is to have a slabber at people
He deserves a lengthy ban but the GAA also needs to look inward in terms of how often these kinds of brawls kick off (not necessarily eye gouging but every man in situations). See it at all levels of the game.
Could have predicted the ‘he’s not that type of player/person’ stuff from a mile off. Same shit when Neil Taylor tried to end Seamus Coleman’s career, every Welsh pundit out insisting that it was uncharacteristic etc etc
Seen them going in about the effect this will have on his mental health as well as the usual boys will be boys shite. It’s exactly why I’m glad not to have much interest in it really, don’t know who’s worse the players or the fans.
Ara a boo boo boo
Common phrase from watching soccer throughout the years is ‘he’s not that kind of player’ usually after an awful tackle or stupid decision. While there is some defending making a bad decision or getting your timing wrong. Not sure how you can defend someone trying to tear at someone’s eye. Who isn’t even in the squad or should be on the pitch. He shouldn’t be allowed near a pitch for a good while, zero place for that shit. You could argue ‘he’s not a professional, he shouldn’t be abused’ but like wise the Galway lad didn’t go out there planning to lose an eye that day either. He’s an amateur too.
An absolutely scummy cunt. Ben him for a whole championship season.
Gaelic’s a tough sport, that’s why I like it but your man could have blinded with that. Dirty as fuck.
I do have sympathy for the Armagh lad simply because I know how hyped they would be before the games to stuck into the other team. I do wonder did it just escalate too far. Then again he actually wasn’t even togged so that looks bad on his side

>Anyone who knows him
I don’t know him.
I saw what he did, though. And I know what he is.

“Remember kids, always respect authority!” – Ted Kaczynski
People like the violence that happens at gaa matches . It’s part of the appeal.
