  1. Not our problem, we should be thinking about our own people and the country first, before talking shit about another

  2. And that is how we lost all faith from The organisers. The flag change does NOTHING except get us into trouble.

I don’t know how Lukashenko can sleep now that there isn’t The Official Belarus flag. He must be shitting his pants. /s

Instead of having an open dialogue, open more programs for belarussians, we close air traffic ( it could have been their only way out) and do some virtue signalling.

The sanctions are a useless tool. I haven’t seen Russia return Crimea yet, nor stop meddling in the business of other countries.

If we are taking down a flag due to no democracy, we should do The same next time we have business with China. Why stop there? Lets boycott The olympics games!

  3. Sanāk mums pilsētas dekorācijas jāsaskaņo tagad? Ap Ziemassvētkiem jāzvana Batķkam vai viņš grib zvaigznītes vai pārsliņas?

  4. This is so childish from Latvian side. I am ashamed for actions of my government, this is not how responsible people acting. Just emotional and stupid decisions. This is stupid virtue signalling.

  7. So it seems that some people have just learnt the buzzword ‘virtue signalling’ and are liberally throwing the term around.
The flag replacement is not virtue signalling. For that the action needs to be used to demonstrate Latvia’s moral correctness on a particular action.
Replacing the flag was just a symbolic act.
Everyone knows it won’t do anything really for the situation. It was done as a simple protest with no real chance of causing change.
But this is what we often ask from our government, there are times when people feel the need to somehow display opposition to something.
Countless times in history there have been acts which are merely symbolic and not a means to demonstrate our higher moral ground.
