Greetings,
for all of you, who are historians/enthusiasts or those that had had the problem personally, what was the “background” of the 1949 German law, where a German citizen could lose his/her citizenship by marrying a foreigner? [German embassy in Dublin](https://uk.diplo.de/uk-en/02/citizenship/loss-of-german-citizenship/2462998) mentions such instances, but I cannot find any reason why would this law be implemented. Does it have something to do with the post-WWII situation?
