Last night, a group of British tourists started a riot outside a bar in Praia da Rocha, Portimão. It made the news here in Portugal. I couldn’t find reporting of this in any English speaking outlets.

  7. English ‘lads abroad’ are the worst. I think we have a shit reputation just about all over Europe by now. It’s embarrassing.

    CCTV is fairly cheap even for good quality these days. They need photographs of the ringleaders put up in the departures lounge at the airport.

    Actions have consequences ‘lads’.

  8. Is there a subreddit for videos like this, or that woman’s 50th birthday party which turned into 2 fat blokes trying to fight each other in the garden, I love watching them but don’t have a consistent source!

  10. Sadly, it is no different to what you see across the Baleriacs, Ibiza, Xante and various Eastern European cities these days. It’s the ‘Lads on Tour’ mentality where getting as fucked up as possible is the only aim and shit like this just follows them. They cannot stop at one drink and have to drink the place dry and take any drug they can get their hands on.

  12. It wouldn’t make the news here because it’s not news that some British people act like cunts when they’re drunk and coked up. Happens in every city in the UK every Friday and Saturday night.

  14. Just WhatsApp’D with a colleague who is there now and was only a few minutes away. Said it was all young English guys with South East accents drinking all day then bar started refusing to serve them and then asked them to leave when they became abusive. This was the result.

  19. I’m from the UK and I’m always totally ashamed when Brits behave like this abroad. I cannot say what should happen to these people or I’d be kicked off the site. You have my deepest sympathy

  20. Maybe I’m getting old, but some of these thugs don’t even look old enough to be on holiday alone. Some of them only look about 15. How many have been arrested and how many were definitely from the UK?

  23. Both UK and other countries need to start banning these fuckwits from travelling via planes or any method to another country really when they can’t behave. Same goes for any country really.

  25. You won’t find this kind of news in Britain because the perpetrators were white hence the media doesn’t cover their own. If this was anyone with a darker skin colour the media would have butchered their culture/ethnicity/religion.

  26. We know we can’t generalize but my eye really starts to twitch whenever I see a group of Brits wondering around our cities. I’ve seen one doing coke in plain daylight on a very touristic location with a lot of kids around. Really not the way to behave!

  27. My dad visited 50 years ago and he’s still convinced they have the toughest police, who will beat the shit out of people misbehaving and breaking laws. Is it like that now?
