Okay, sure, but is this only true because the UK didn’t grant asylum so much as give an open invitation to hundreds of thousands of Hong Kongers to come to the UK? This isn’t to undermine what Sweden has done, rather to question whether it was genuinely first. Thoughts/comments welcome.
