MSP launches consultation on Bill to pardon thousands convicted of witchcraft

  1. Well, if you’ve nothing else in your in tray, why not? And I’m sure you could get other MSPs to help you because it does sound really interesting.

  2. Amazing use of taxpayers time and money in the midst of a cost of living crisis. I’m sure this issue was at the forefront of every Scottish citizens mind.

  3. Wow I’m so glad that MSPs have resolved all the issues faced by people in Scotland and can now refocus thier efforts on 300 year old injustices.

  4. The concept of a pardon comes with the implicit understanding that the person being pardoned was guilty of the offence, and the pardon is them being forgiven for it.

    Unless she believes these “witches” were correctly convicted for their crimes, then they can’t coherently be pardoned for it.

    I’m not a big fan of pardoning people when they’re dead, either.
