WASHINGTON (Gray DC) – The nation’s capital will hold memorial services this week for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) before his body is returned to South Carolina for additional ceremonies and private burial.
On Tuesday, Graham will be honored in Washington with a U.S. Capitol memorial service and a funeral at the National Cathedral. President Donald Trump is expected to attend and deliver remarks.
Memorials continue Wednesday in South Carolina, where services include a State Capitol ceremony, a church service, and a private burial. Most events will be live-streamed. The South Carolina senator died suddenly two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, the President has a busy week. Monday, Trump is traveling to Michigan to speak about manufacturing and the economy. He will deliver remarks at a General Motors facility one week before the state holds its primary elections.
The on Friday, Trump will hold his cabinet meeting at Camp David, the presidential retreat. It will be the 13th cabinet meeting of his second administration and marks a rare visit to the residence, which has served as the site of policy discussions and high-level meetings for decades.
